Open Face Turkey And Cheese Sandwich

Toasted bread topped with onion spread, turkey slices and cheddar cheese sauce. Broiled until golden brown.
Ingredients -
Cheese Sauce:
3 tablespoons Butter
3 tablespoons All-Purpose Flour
1/8 teaspoon Salt
1/8 teaspoon White Pepper
1 cup Milk
1 cup shredded Mild or Medium Cheddar Cheese

Sandwich:
4 slices of Gourmet White or Wheat Bread
1/4 cup Onion Chip Dip or Spread
sliced cooked Turkey, enough for 4 sandwiches

 
Preparation:

Cheese Sauce:
1. Add butter to saucepan and melt. Stir in flour, salt, and white pepper to form smooth paste.

2. Stir in milk slowly while whisking.

3. Cook until mixture bubbles and thickens.

4. Add cheddar cheese and cook until cheese melts and stir until smooth.

Sandwiches:
1. Place oven rack just above middle setting. Preheat oven broiler.

2. Toast the bread in the toaster.

3. Spread toasted bread slices with onion dip.

4. Arrange bread slices in baking dish, spread side up.

5. Layer turkey and cheese sauce over onion spread.

6. Place baking dish under broiler, and cook until sandwiches begin to brown.

7. Serve hot.
