Cajun Style French Bread

Transforming a fresh loaf of French bread into a spicy loaf ready for sandwich making.
Ingredients -
1 (14 ounces) French Bread Loaf
1/4 cup Butter
1 medium Onion, finely chopped
1 small Jalapeño Chili Pepper, seeded and finely minced
1 Garlic Clove, minced
2/3 cup Mayonnaise
1/2 cup (2 ounces) shredded Parmesan Cheese
1 tablespoon Fresh Lemon Juice
1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire Sauce
1-1/2 teaspoons Creole Seasoning
 
Preparation:

1. Preheat oven to 350 F.

2. Cut French bread loaf in half lengthwise.

3. Melt butter and spread evenly onto cut sides of French bread.

4. In a small bowl, combine the finely chopped onion, jalapeño chili pepper, minced garlic, mayonnaise, shredded Parmesan cheese, fresh lemon juice, and Worcestershire sauce.

5. Spread jalapeño mixture over buttered French bread halves.

6. Place French bread halves, buttered side up, on baking sheet.

7. Sprinkle Creole seasoning over jalapeño mixture.

8. Bake 18-20 minutes, or until brown and bubbly.

9. Let stand 5 minutes.

Freezing Bread
You can freeze the unbaked loaves of cajun style French bread. Wrap in aluminum foil, place in re-sealable zip-lock plastic bags and freeze, Remove loaves of bread from freezer, thaw and bake as directed above.
